The 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were presented for the first time in their new home the Nokia Theater. The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences marked the anniversary occasion by paying tribute to many classic shows of the past. The show had its own rocky start, as earlier on to the night, the police found a rifle in a trunk of a car outside the Nokia Theatre, but the night went on as scheduled. The show opened with Oprah Winfrey introducing the five hosts who came on stage in matching suits and ties. The first award of the night went to Actor Jeremy Piven who took the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in the HBO series Entourage, which made it his third consecutive win. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart won for Best variety, music or comedy series. Outstanding writing award went to Tina Fey for the Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, who also took the award for Best Actress in comedy series, 30 Rock. Five-time Oscar nominee Glenn Close won the Emmy Award as best actress in a television drama for playing a lawyer on the series Damages. The most predictable Emmy of the night went in the Best Drama category to Mad Men. HBO took home four awards for the acclaimed mini-series John Adams, with Laura Linney and Paul Giamatti winning for the lead roles. One of the hosts of the night Jeff Probes won the first ever award for the reality show host.

The fashions of the night did not disappoint us. The show host Heidi Klum wore a stunning glittery draped gown accessorized with massive butterfly earrings. Yellow was the popular color of the night as seen on Teri Hatcher and Mariska Hargitay. The flower power came from Ugly Betty star Vanessa Williams. Brooke Sheilds wowed us with her gorgeous fuchsia dress and "Grey's Anatomy" star Sandra Oh stole the show in a classic black lace dress.
