The Departed

"The Departed" is legendary director Martin Scorsese's best film since "Goodfellas", a fast-paced and quick-witted action film that has audiences cheering around the world. Shot mostly on location in Boston, Massachusetts, "The Departed" pits an undercover cop (Leonardo DiCaprio) against an undercover mob agent (Matt Damon) in a tense territorial battle. Loosely based on the Hong Kong film "Infernal Affairs", "The Departed" uses its cliche set-up to its advantage, allowing a host of terrific actors (including Mark Wahlberg and Jack Nicholson) to riff off each other in some of the greatest verbal free-for-alls since the Billy Wilder days. Nominated for six Golden Globes, "The Departed" is one of the best films of 2006.
